The day begins at the Juan Navarro Museum, located Ballestas Islands boat terminal in Chaco Paracas. Here you will see hundreds of ancient artifacts from 5 cultures; Paracas, Nazca, Wari, Chincha and Inca, spanning a period of more than 2000 years.
All of the artifacts were collected by Sr. Navarro over the course of decades, and were found in the Paracas area. Of particular interest may be the 40 plus Elongated Paracas culture skulls.
Then it is off to the new Julio C. Tello Museum in the Paracas Reserve, which has hundreds of Paracas culture artifacts, dating from 800 BC to 100 AD. The museum is in fact on the grounds of a massive Paracas culture village site.
And then we head to Tambo Colorado, meaning the “coloured inn” which was a major Inca temple, palace and toll station in the 1400s AD.
