This tour covers the northern end of the Sacred Valley, outside Cusco, while the Sacred Valley I tour covers the south. Some guides and companies try to squash the entire valley into a one day tour, but we don’t like the gloss over the majesty of each site, nor rush guests.
This is Naupa Iglesia, NOT on the standard tourist route and a place we only take people to selectively since we use and regard it as a temple.
This amazing shaped wall and “false door” are there as well. Most likely not Inca construction, and incredibly special to visit.
Amazing Ollantaytambo. This site covers 600 hecares, and most guides only show you a part of it, whereas we see everything, including the mysterious Temple of the Condor.
There are more precision flat surfaces here than at many of the special sites we visit, showing clear evidence that the master megalith makers were here before the Inca.
Natural shape, or a deliberately carved human face profile. This is the amazing 500 foot tall portait of Tunupa, or Viracochan that you see from the main terraces at Ollantaytambo.
There is far more to see here, but only so much can be shown through photos; direct experience is the key.
