The crowning jewel of Peruvian archaeology and tourism, not to mention national pride is Machu Pic’chu, whose real name is likely the Dwelling Place of the Gods in the Inca Quechua language. Few visitors are told that the Inca were not the first people there, the megalith builders were…and thousands of years earlier. The tour, aside from observing the glory of this wonderful space, focuses on distinguishing between what the Inca made, and the older megalithic aspects that they found already in place.
This wonderfully beautiful place is mainly Inca in construction, as in about 90%, but the other 10% was made by much earlier people, as evidenced in the following photos. Scientific evidence is suggesting that the megalithic aspects could be more than 11,000 years older than the Inca works.
The massive block at the bottom weighs at least 15 tons, and the wall in behind shows ancient cataclysmic damage. It was clearly created by an earlier culture, who had lost ancient high technology at their disposal. And the cataclysmic event could have occurred 12,000 years ago, making Machu Pic’chu a super ancient location. No wonder so many people are drawn to this, the most famous ancient site in South America.
Even the famous Hitching Post of the Sun, though used by the Inca, was most likely not constructed by them. The granite stone is far too hard and refined for their bronze chisels and stone hammers. And it was and is not just a sun dial, but a device that measured the movements of the moon, planets, and perhaps even stars.
Inside the Temple of the Sun is an ancient shaped stone, aligned to the winter solstice, but most guides have no clue that the Inca didn’t shape it, nor that it is far older than what they were taught in school.
