In the above photo we see Nick posing in front of a recently “opened to the public” megalithic wall at Baalbek in Lebanon. The stones on average weigh 800 tons and are from a quarry about 1 mile away.
Massive corner block on top of which we see later Roman construction using smaller stones. It is clear that the corner block is far older due to its size and the darkening caused by extensive time and weathering.
The above photo shows you the complex nature as regards the construction of one of the walls at Baalbek.
