This is a subject that no one else covers, aside from a brief mention in a few cases. Brien is at the forefront in the study of both cranial deformation and the possibility that ancient ancestors were born with elongated heads. In Cusco itself we see examples of possibly both, and one hour south of the city are the most astonishing examples.
The museum at the Coricancha, above, has fine examples of cranial deformation and skulls which appear to have been born elongated as does the massive Inca museum in the area which we shall also visit. Though labeled as being Inca, they have never been radiocarbon tested, so could be older than the Inca.
Sr. Renato is the director of the Andahuaylillas museum one hour’s drive outside of Cusco which we shall also explore that has the most fantastic intriguing ancient skeletons on display; especially the Huayqui skeleton above, which several medical professionals have seen with Brien and can not explain…at all!
