This two day tour includes oceanfront accommodations and if needed assistance with arranging high quality direct bus service from Lima. The tour begins and ends in Paracas. This Tour is guided by Brien Foerster
Day 1: We get on a high speed boat and explore the amazing Ballestas Islands, about half an hour from Paracas. Here you will more sea birds and other wildlife than you have ever seen in your life. This sea journey takes about 2 hours.
Part of this ocean trip includes a stop to observe the 500 tall geoglyph called the “Candelabra” which was made by the Paracas culture more than 2000 years ago likely as a navigational device.
We then go to the Paracas History Museum, and will be able to not only observe more than 40 Paracas Elongated Skulls, but some will be taken out of their cases for closer examination, photos and videos. The museum also has a fine collection of Nazca, Wari, Chincha and Inca artifacts.
Then, we go to a rarely visited massive Paracas graveyard to explore the area and see all sorts of artifacts and other evidence of the ancient Paracas culture.
We then return to Paracas and stay overnight in the new and luxurious ocean side San Augustin Hotel.
Day 2: Drive inland for about an hour and explore the major Inca site called Tambo Colorado, which was not only an Inca palace, but also a place where taxation was collected for those people during Inca times that were traveling between the coast of Peru and Cusco.
After lunch (optional) in a recommended seaside restaurant in Paracas, we explore the huge and fascinating Paracas Reserve, with a multi-coloured desert landscape and breathtaking views of the open Pacific Ocean.
